So very much to be thankful for this year…

We have been so very, very blessed. Sometimes, I find myself grasping for the words that could possibly explain the feelings I have about this life we have been granted. We have lost loved ones, we have experienced pain of separation and the fear of no returning home, we have had some pitfalls and a few financial bumps…and yet, we have been given so much more.

One beautiful wedding where we said “I do” forever and ever and became so much more than best friends…

A little boy who gave us our first taste of immediate, primal, unconditional love…

A plane ride home from a desert vacation…

Another little boy who has completed our sweet family…

And a home to ground us, to bring us new memories and life experiences…

No matter how many missed naps or annoying moves or long nights we may have, nothing can take these beautiful blessings from us. They are a constant reminder of how lucky we are to have this life we are living. I try not to get too sappy very often because it is simply not in my nature. I’m not a “hug it out” kind of girl. But sometimes, I’m just overwhelmed by my love for my family. I don’t say this is an attempt to brag. I’m not naive enough to think my life is perfect. However, I’m guilty of failing to mention the wonderful things in life in an attempt to not sound conceited. And truly, they should be mentioned.

As Thanksgiving draws near, what brings you to your knees to say “thanks” to the Big Man Above this year?

Here’s what I am thankful for.
    1) My marriage and husband
    2) My daughter who made me a mom and showed me how to love
    3) My son who is such a happy baby and has blessed us so much
    4) Having family near by and the fact that they are involved with my kiddos everyday life

That my husband and I have endured much, MUCH more than most marriages ever do. And that our love for one another has gotten us through each and every trial and tribulation. We celebrated 9 years this past August.

God will NEVER give me more that what I am capable of handling. That He will ALWAYS take care of me and my family as long as I love Him and put Him first. No matter how hard things get financially, there is always food on the table. I’m saying this as my husband has been out of work for 4 weeks now. Without pay. And we’re a one-income family.

I’m thankful for…my husband (he still makes me laugh and most people don’t even know he’s funny).

My youngest daughter who brings me tons of joy and pride…Go Blue Hose! and sing it girl!

My friends. I have really good ones.

The members of our family who are with us and those who have passed. All if them have enriched my life.

The Military Mama, her little family and all that entails….a daughter who has grown into a friend, a son-in-law I love (how many MILs are so lucky), and my sweet, sweet grandsons.

Living in the greatest country. Thank you, God. I am blessed.

So thankful for my little family, all our friends, and the many, many blessings God continues to provide us. This year has been full of ups and downs but there’s always something good to look forward to!

  • "I'm a twenty-five-year old mama to two little boys and married to the love of my life. I have a serious Diet Coke addiction and a tendency to overshare. My biggest dream is to write a book. A good book that tons of people buy and relate to and love. In the mean time, this is the story of us as we flounder through raising our wild, little boys, moving a million times, and buying and renovating our 1968 Ranch home."
