A thrifty Tuesday.

If you recall, we have built-in shelves in our formal dining room. I can’t find any good pictures of them. In fact, all I can find is this picture where you can kind of see a tiny, little piece of them in the corner here:
So, um, it may be kind of hard to picture. These shelves are one of my favorite parts of our home, and even though they are currently covered in grimy cream paint with a splash of BRIGHT red, I can’t wait to turn them into our own style. I’m thinking of painting the back of them a bright yellow…or maybe aqua? Our foyer will be Peacock by Valspar, so obviously, I’m not afraid of bright colors. But anyway, I have other big plans with them. I plan to decorate them with just Pyrex. I know, I know. The obsession is outta control. But I don’t care. I’m super excited.
How lovely does Pyrex look as a decoration?
Check out this wonderful article on Etsy about a Pyrex collector who owns My Favourite Dress.
Here is another adorable collection filled with primary colors (LOVE).
And how pretty are these colors together?
Pyrex has been on my thrift list since I began thrifting a couple weeks ago. Today, I stumbled upon a few pieces that I think will look nice grouped together in the built-ins.
The two casseroles are from 1965 and 1959. They are promotional pieces and were only made briefly. The bowls were probably made in the late 60s or early 70s. I just picture some wife and mother using these pieces lovingly during the holidays to feed her family. They make me so happy.
Any thrifting adventures for y’all lately?

I don’t know about “thrifting” necessarily, but I’m in the market for some end tables for my bedroom. I don’t need a perfect set of 2 that match to a tee, but I would love for them to coordinate. I can’t decide what color I want in my bedroom. The room is literally driving me nuts and I’m so anxious to get it done finally and not think about it anymore! I’m heading to a good fabric store this weekend in search of fabric that will be used to make my headboard. So, I’m starting there. Then, I will either begin my hunt for end tables or concentrate on curtains. Or hang things on the walls. Ugh, it’s all so overwhelming! But, fun at the same time.

i heart thrift stores. sometimes i get so obsessed with chasing that high when i find good stuff!!! ifind that certain stores are good for clothes, while others are good for books and housewares.there is one near me, their clothes are good (all kids clothes are 99cents…i have found tea, gap, etc for my little ones!!!) but housewares suck!! i need to find another one!
i would love to collect pyrex, milk glass, and vintage books!
